The Knowledgeable CFO: Guiding Enterprise Through Information

Part of the responsibilities of a company's chief financial officer (CFO) is to accomplish controllership duties, which involve providing shareholders, management, and other stakeholders with up-to-date information on the state of an enterprise's financial state over a period.

The role of the CFO as the gatekeeper of a company's financial plays into its additional role in advising corporate operations and executive decision-making. Beyond merely keeping the business' internal stakeholders updated on the state of the enterprise, however, CFOs also serve as advisors.

Financial information reveals a lot about the state of the company. Among these include the relative success of a new venture undertaken, operational inefficiencies that cut into the company's revenue, or a plateau in growth and profit that need to be addressed. The data can influence the level of confidence displayed by the company's shareholders, while information gleaned from these records can help business leaders make informed decisions on critical issues.

The CFO is thus charged with ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the data. Moreover, CFOs today should not just be that of a passive provider of information to help. The role of adviser should be active. CFOs and their staff should take the initiative to evaluate data and point out both key areas of improvement and find opportunities growth that the business should capitalize on.

Helping children under One God:  A most worthy cause

The world is plagued with enough challenges to the human spirit.  Any form of help would be most welcome.  One of the most pressing injustices by far is the one suffered by children who have been separated from their families, and the kind-hearted souls of the world have been more than willing to take part in doing what they can to help out.

Child adoption is a serious undertaking, and it’s fortunate that people who are willing to go into it can be guided by trusted agencies like All God’s Children International.

AGCI has been in the thick of efforts to rescue children who have been abandoned, separated, and abused.  Subsequently, these children are rehabilitated and cared for until they are matched with worthy parents who are willing to take them in as their own.

The AGCI takes on a unique approach as they operate, in creating family plans for each child.  Family plans are concerned with providing children with the best possible outcomes through reunification, adoption, or supported independence.

In caring for children, their ultimate goal is for every child to feel the love of a family.

For many of those who are blessed with the ability to truly make a difference, they have not though twice about making life a little bit easier for the world’s children.  Perhaps the key to success has been about seeing all individuals in equal footing.

Empire Today: Turning Homes Into Palaces

Empire Today LLC was once known as Empire Carpet. Businessman Seymour Cohen started the company in 1959. Its first name was Empire Plastic Covers, which was a private and family-owned company based in Chicago, Illinois. It was a small office back then before Cohen and Empire took to expansion, by increasing its product line due to higher demand. Six years after its founding, the company was renamed into Empire Home Services, with carpets as part of its product offering. Throughout the decades, Empire Home Services acquired and sold more and more items. The company soon became famous throughout the United States. It was sold at the turn of the 21st century. In 2003, the company changed its name to Empire Today.

At present, Empire Today can be found in Northlake, still in the state of Illinois. It still has the product line that it is most known for – home improvement and furnishing products. Its specialty is in carpet installation, flooring, and home windows. It has branches in over 75 big cities in the United States. It has indeed become a leader in the home improvement and furnishing industry. It has aided more than a million clients in improving and furnishing their homes.

From 2007 to 2010, the company was ranked either first or second in specialty flooring retail, based on total amount of sales. It is one of the most trusted home improvement and furnishing companies in America today, able to perform sales appointments at prospective clients’ homes and install the next day.

“Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way around or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves.

Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.”

“Don't fear failure. — Not failure, but low aim, is the crime. In great attempts it is glorious even to fail.”
― Bruce Lee
